Tuba Şehitoğlu

Tuba Şehitoğlu is the second speaker in this presentation, preceded by Ersin Gök. She graduated from Istanbul Technical University with a MS in Architectural Design, and carried out her thesis research at Stuttgart University. She has led cultural, residential, hospitality, retail, and mixed-use project internationally and in Turkey. She is a co-founder of Yuva project, an initiative created formed in response to Turkey’s devastating 2023 earthquakes which develops modular, ecological, and sustainable housing solutions. The homes are wooden and modular and designed for a mid-term living environment. Through YUVA, she integrated design practice with social responsibility, advancing models of production that engages local actors, creates employment, and fosters long-term resilience. The group continues to provide solutions in the built environment in the earthquake region, and she continues to explore ways in which design can bridge professional excellence with humanitarian impact.
